Gavin and Stacey 3rd Show pressure

Ruth Jones has said that she feels "the pressure is on" with the third series of Gavin & Stacey.

Speaking at the Royal Court's Young Writers Festival, the show's co-creator claimed that she was still adopting a pessimistic attitude about the sitcom's future

"We only have a short space of time to write it so the pressure is on," she said. "People have been so lovely and kind about the series but I can't help thinking nothing lasts forever.

"Part of me is waiting to disappoint - that's probably the Welsh pessimism in me."

Jones and James Corden are expecting to finish the new scripts by the end of March. The pair confirmed the comedy series' return on Jones's BBC Radio Wales roadshow last month.

The writer and actress would not reveal any plot plans, but claimed they already know how the show would end.

"It's a good thing to know where you're heading to," she said. "And knowing the characters so well makes it somewhat easier. It's a really enjoyable process."
