I know what you mean - i always feel I have to finish a book too. However, you might accidentally drop it in the bath, or leave it on the bus, or stick it in the bin/recycling/charity bag by mistake.

One of my favourite alltime books, that and Swan Song by Robert McCammon. Both meaty tomes.

I am reading The Secret Of Crickley Hall by James Herbert

Re-reading Thud by Terry Pratchett and the moment.

Despite many threats, Granny Weatherwax had never turned anyone into a frog. The way she saw it, there was a technically less cruel and much more satisfying thing you could do. You could leave them human and make them think they were a frog, which also provided a much innocent entertainment for passers-by.

I used to love Philip K Dick but I haven't read any for ages!

I'm reading the Carl Bernstein biography of Hillary Clinton, the Penguin Book of World History, AN Wilson's Jesus, a book about the history of potatoes and just started Babel Tower by AS Byatt.

Isn't that being made into a film?

Dear Lord,
I pray for Wisdom to understand my man;
Love to forgive him;
And Patience for his moods;
Because Lord, if I pray for Strength,
I'll beat him to death.

It has been made into a French film

From Harlan's website bio page

Harlan's novel TELL NO ONE has been turned into the commercial and critical smash hit French film NE LE DIS A PERSONNE, starring Francois Cluzet and Kristin Scott Thomas. The movie won the Lumiere (French Golden Globe) for best picture and was nominated for nine Cesars (French Oscar) and won four, including best actor, best director and best music.

Edit - Whirlie beat me to it

Have you read the novel?

Not usually my type of novel but I really enjoyed it. I will definately read another of his books when I finish my current pile.

Now reading Shaun Hutson - Necessary Evil.

Not as splatterpunk as he used to be but no shortage of deaths and blood!

'Fighting Spirit' by Bruce Thomas, it's a biography of Bruce Lee. From early childhood to his philosophy on martial arts and life. Lovin' it.

ALIENS: Steel Egg

A tale of the first ever encounter between man and the Xenomorph in space, via novel format. A very good book, it is written by a John Shirley who won a Bram Stoker award for his story "Black Butterflies", and is about a group of astronauts who find an alien ship in space, and accidentally become infected by the xenomorphic creatures of the movies, one of which is a queen.

I like it, and I haven't been able to put it down, except to use the internet. :o

Well - finished Shaun Hutson book now. Not his best but it was alright.

Now trying the Sacred Cut by David Hewson - yet another not my usual type of book. This one isn't really engaging me. I will give it one more bath and two train trips to pull up it's socks - or I will be at the bookstore before heading up to the Blue Mountains on Friday.
