Could you live 'Off The Grid'

I couldn't live without technology, but I kind of envy this woman ....

Meet Mrs Bilbo Baggins: Oxford graduate quit mainstream society to live a hobbit-style existence in mud hut in the Welsh hills

I'd love to try it, but probably not long term. I reckon it does bring a kind of freedom that mainstream society lacks. No bills to speak of, basically just enough to feed and clothe yourself. Could get a bit boring though? Plus normal stresses may be replaced by **Shit the hens haven't laid today, what the hell am I going to eat**

We didn't get electric at our house until I was 5 years old. I remember when we first got a TV. Amazing technology

Our ancestors used to live like that centuries ago, good luck to her :splif:
I couldn't do it, too fond of creature comforts.

Two months ago, I encountered a homeless guy outside Tesco who was living off the grid in some nearby woods in a similar way to the woman in the picture in the first post but without the hens.
