If you were to emigrate, where to?

A little curious on this one.

Let's say that for whatever reasons they might be, you decided to emigrate, which country would you chose? If a one-sentence description of "why" can be done, that would be interesting too.

Every once in a while, I get so pissed off with this country, the thought of emigrating keeps cropping up. I am a long long way off doing it but I just can't get the option out of my mind.

right now, somewhere warm. :):

Actually, i have looked into this on a semi-serious level.

I would want to go somewhere English is the first language, and the only place which I would automatically qualify is Canada, but it takes about five years ( ok, maybe its three, but its a long time anyway) to complete the process to get there.

A new start can seem very attractive...

Switzerland has always been one of my places I'd like to live. But then there's plenty of lush pacific islands that are attractive too.

Canada is always a popular destination but Switzerland Smeggy??? May I ask why?

My choice is in Europe, I just can't see myself ever living anywhere else.

Serbia/Belarus/Russia.

Not having to fill out a thirty-four page risk assessment, don a hi-viz vest, a hard hat, plastic goggles and safety boots to open a satsuma will indeed be a refreshing change.

Hey LN.

'elf and safety's gone too far here. Some of it is sensible and understandable but a lot of it is flat-out preposterous. As for political correctness, don't even get me started.

:spank:

Political correctness alert, Wots. It's not a 'ladder' any more, as you know. As you bloody well know. It's a Vertical Runged Climbing Device. (VRCD)

You're right though; compensation culture is ridiculous as well but like you say, climb the wrong bloody ladder and what do you expect?! :|

Pedantry alert:

A ladder is actually a HRCD. Vertical rungs and you'd have nowhere to put your Body Support Pads ( feet )

The whole fucking thing is vertical, I mean. It points up. You climb it. It's vertical. It has rungs. Hence, Vertical Runged Climbing Device.

If it was horizontal you'd lay the fucker on the floor and what good's that? It isn't. To anyone. Unless you wanna store it.

;)

And since when did political correctness make sense? :pp:
