Now all set up connected to TiVo but there is a resonance on some voices,it's really hard to explain.. it's like a 'bass' behind the voice... also I need to get the colour right.. it's a Samsung TV.. is it my TiVo box or Tv that's causing the problem? I also need to adjust the colour on display..

It's like the commentator voice slightly drumbeats.. so weird..

Also do this on your telly - in the telly's sound settings menu - set it to basic stereo and not the surround sound Dolby shite. Check for settings like Loudness or other shite effects like concert hall, cinema, etc. Just set it to the most basic settings first.

Also, how is the Tivo box connected to your telly?

Some other things you could try: does the Tivo box have its own volume control? If so, set it to low-midway and then adjust the volume on the telly with its remote control.

It may be that the Tivo box is supplying a sound signal that is 'clipping' so it's too high a level for the telly to work with properly.

The same goes for the colour settings - set the Tivo box to the most basic colour settings and then do the same on the telly. Sometimes they may be set to values like 'Vivid' or some other shite that looks crap.

Is it a HDMI connection from the Tivo box to the telly?

Yup, that seems likely

Actually I moved the Tv abit from the wall, this seems to have helped,I wondered whether the sound was bouncing off the wall slightly.my neighbour reckons the colour is fine.

Well, looked at settings on sound, everything is set normal nothing fancy, what I did do though was to click on 'clearer voice' which upped the sound and seems to be better :chin:

Unlikely a standing wave is gonna build up in that alcove. although it is very refective
