As in the title, I'm just wondering, or rather - I need to find out - just how much information can be gleaned from an ISP address?

For example, from my work's ISP address would someone with access to it be able to find out where I work (it's a large company, approx 850 people on the site I work on with pcs and internet access)?

Many thanks for any help anyone can give me on this one.

Yup, large companies tend to have a dedicated Internet connection with a fixed IP. They don't use a £20 a month domestic ISP account with a dynamic IP address.

So armed with a company's IP address it's a simple case of entering it into one the zillions of WHOIS IP Search pages in the 'interweb
