the old google maps you could click that left hand column out of sight and have almost full screen map

Have you tried accessing it through Google Earth ?

3D mapping now (or since i last used it) so buildings are erm.. 3D! It has put a totally new edge on the thing and you can see things in a way that you could not before. I think its fucking ace and cant stop looking at different places on it!
