Right. I'm expecting "nil point" replies to this thread, but I don't care. This is one of my favourite bands of all time.

Is this the coolest modern jazz band in the world or what?

From an Italian TV appearance. Those two backing vocalists/guitarists look like they should be in a disco band, lol.
For those who don't know, Pat Metheny is the one playing midi guitar.

Hello fellow fan!
That's wonderful. I've never seen/heard that version before. :)

Have you seen the YouTube videos of PM with the Het Metropole Orchestra? There were a whole bunch but they all got removed. :(

Went to see the Pat Metheny Group with my dad in the 80's, saw them at the Manchester Apollo and really enjoyed it. I loved the stuff he did with Joni Mitchell on Hejira and/or Hissing Of Summer Lawns, though that might of been someone else  I know he did something with Joni, I think he's on the Shadows and Light video, I'm sure he is. My dad is a jazz guitarist so he used to take me to a lot of gigs, saw Jan Garbarek, Jon Hassell, and he took me to see Miles Davis as well :)

That might have been someone else - Larry Carlton on guitar, Jaco Pastorius on bass perhaps?
He did play on Shadows and Light, and has played live with her I think.

You saw Miles Davis??? Respect! :thumb:
